About BraveHearts
PROVIDING COMFORT AND SUPPORT TO RESUME EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES AND MAINTAIN A LIFESTYLE OF GOOD HEALTH
The BraveHearts of St. Francis Hospital are a group of the hospital's former open-heart surgery patients who offer support and assistance to current heart patients including patients who undergo the minimally invasive TAVR procedure. BraveHearts visit with patients to deliver membership certificates and lend an experienced view of recovery. They also staff a telephone support line for recently discharged patients. The group publishes a monthly newsletter, coordinates several excursions and day trips throughout the year, and support one another in their post-operative experiences.

About This Site
Hi, my name is Derek Peterson and on April 28, 2022 I had open heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm that was dilated 8.1cm. It is only by the grace of God I am still alive. In the process of my recovery I joined a fantastic support group called the BraveHearts.
I created this page so that other people who have had heart issues may learn more about BraveHearts.
